Well, another hard night of racing the backwards course. Seems like we're getting good feedback on this route! Thank you!
Congratulations are in order for Eric Hueston, with his win last night, he has enough of a point lead that he's secured the series win! Way to go roadie! There will be a close battle to sort out 2nd and 3rd! Congratulations to John, Louis, and Siobhan for taking their category wins. The Ladies series is a very close race with the top three ladies only 1 point apart. We will have some good battles next week. Looking forward to seeing everyone out at 6pm again next Wednesday in preparation of the Burning Kiln Cross Race. Series Standings Standings HERE Only 2 races left with points for the season. Eric H. has taken the lead after his late race attack over Eric J. A tight race for the B's last night with the top 4 finishing within 40 seconds of each other! Siobhan showed her MTB skills on the technical course finishing over a minute ahead of Crit Pony Kristen.
Thanks for a fun night! See ya'll next week. Series standings here Well, another race in the books. Congrats to Marcy, Alex, Kevin, and Eric on their respective wins. Looks like the B Race had a good battle between Kevin and Harold with only 5 seconds between 1st and 2nd!
We're all wishing a quick heal time for Mike "The CX Pirate" Williamson who was honing his log jumping skills and took a spill. His black eye is quite the sight! For those looking to improve their consistency, talk to the DePauw family. Look at Craig's and Alex's times (he obviously learns this from his Dad!) Great job guys! Series standings are tight! Three way tie in the A's with Eric, Roy and Chris all tied at 20pts. Kevin is leading the B's (for now...one more win and he'll be upgraded to A) and Amy just took the lead from Maureen and Alex leads the JR's by a healthy margin! Series standing spreadsheet is here. Reminder, next week starts at 6pm. Also B's and Women...let me know if you want a 30 second delayed start to practice your starts/hole shots. Another amazing night of racing. Very happy to see so many people out!
Congratulations to our winners - Siobhan, Alex, Kevin, and Eric! Next weeks race will be at the same time - 6:30pm with pre-ride @ 5:45pm. Results and series standings below.... 1/2 way through our race series. Things will be heating up next week! Another great night of racing.
We had some Jr's toe the line this week, which was awesome! Glad to see some youth ripping there way through the course. Congrats to Eric who showed complete dominance on the course, Dallas for taking his third B win in a row, and Maureen for showing the ladies how to crack 30min! Thanks again everyone, I'm looking forward to more battles next week! Good luck to those who are racing this weekend at Cowbell 'cross. A's and B's results below.
Congrats to Noah who held the A race lead for 95% of the race and took a hard earned win from Chris! Dallas once again took the B race championship. One more win and he'll be forced to upgrade to the A group. :) Congratulations to Maureen for shredding the course with her finely tuned MTB skills (see example in video!) and taking the Women's win. B's total on three laps, 4th lap time posted for fun. Glad to see everyone out! If you haven't already, check out the fun video I made. I'll re-evaluate the timing this week to determine if we can still race at 7pm or if 6:30pm makes more sense. I'll announce in an email. See everyone next week! Michael Thank you to everyone who came out last night! It was the perfect night for 'cross. A few spills left a couple of us hurting, but I'm happy to report there are no broken bikes and no broken bones. Taylor and I should be back to racing in no time!
Preliminary results are published. I've guessed on who the B's are...and if you're a B and you're doing 4 laps to train harder (which I love) that's fine, just comment below, email me, text, facebook, tweet, or Woof me if I'm wrong and you want to be changed to an A or a B and I'll make the revisions and adjust points as needed. Congratulations to our A winner Chris Pollet who fought a hard race against Roy. It looks like Dallas took the B race with less than 30 seconds to Kevin. Kudos to Amy White, our only female rider this week who hammered out a solid and consistent 4 laps! I'm excited to see the competition heat up next week! 'Cross Club race #2 is in the books, and an interesting race it was! From Amy calling me a #FatDad mid race while Kristen Kitt (pronounced Ky-it-tea) yelled UP UP UP to everyone, to a Border Collie trying to herd us Nordic Cats. Thanks to everyone who came out tonight! The racers make the race, and the more the word spreads, the more fun we will have trying to rip ours and each others legs off, so please break rules #1 and #2 and spread the word!
Congratulations to race winner Chris Pollett...well paced laps. I will note though, despite what Strava says, I have the fastest lap time (as officially recorded by our Queen race timer Ella...Thanks again Ella!!) You can keep your virtual crown, I'll enjoy the real one. Another shout out to Siobhan Kelly for smashing the women's lap record and bringing it down to 8:33. #fastlegs #QUEEN #KOMkilla #TheBorderCollieReallyHasTheKOM. Thank you! Michael Friendly reminder to keep your bib numbers assigned to you all season. Bring your bib #'s every race. You'll be able to pre-pin your numbers and it keeps timing easy we can have all the information pre-loaded.
Thanks! Michael |
